Actually SteelLite is currently in the process of designing homes with Lite-gauge steel and will be unavailing their line later in the year. Base price starts out around $110k USD. Great, thanks! Do you know of anyone using the systems from what SteelLite currently offers for the frame of a home? Could a person design their own frame plans and have SteelLite produce and install that frame?
I'm not currently aware of anyone using this system to build homes yet, but you might have some luck on Google.
In regards to SteelLite using your plans to build the frame, at this point we can not, we are still in the process of ensuring the structure would be up to any city/state building codes.

Great article. The primary reason steel is such a great materiable is the ability to deform (bend), then return to the original shape. As it bends or elongates, it absorbs design forces. In most cases, no permanent deformation results; the engineer estimates forces and specifies steel sections that will support design loads and anticipated (statistically speaking) wind, snow, seismic, and other weather events.
The metal roofs of past centuries were metal, but not steel. Copper was an effective metal roofing material. The first steel structures were built only about 80 years ago. Those still stand. The service life of steel in buildings is still not known.
I'm curious, how do you have "flexible anchor bolt locations" ?
